Wireless Validation/Certification Engineer

We at Cisco’s RF Center of Excellence in Richfield, Ohio are looking for a Wireless Engineer with a focus on Wi-Fi Certification and Validation.

The Wireless Certification Design, Validation and Testing team is involved in the entire Wi-Fi Generational Lifecycle – from helping define and drive industry wide Wi-Fi Certification Standards through participation in the Wi-Fi Alliance to the end stage validation of these standards in our products to ensure the top-notch performance, quality, and reliability our customers expect and rely on. What You’ll Do

  • Build, configure, and maintain relevant Wi-Fi Alliance Test Setup’s once final test plans, setups and standards are published
    • This will involve working with different wireless chipsets, tools, and platforms including various Linux distributions (Ubuntu, Fedora, Debian, etc.)
  • Work on internal and external validation of the Catalyst and Meraki Access Point Portfolio stack against published Wi-Fi Alliance Standards and Test Plans
    • This will also involve designing, modifying, and maintaining automation to create a more streamlined validation process
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to debug and fix any issues found during the validation process
    • This will involve extensive work with Wireshark and other network analysis tools, and involve developing an understanding of IEEE 802.11 protocols and Wi-Fi Alliance Standards
  • Communicate and co-ordinate with stakeholders, both internal and external to help align and push priorities, both internally, and at standards bodies
  • Have an opportunity to help monitor, define, and drive industry wide Wi-Fi Certification Standards through participation in Wi-Fi Alliance Task Groups.
    • This will involve monitoring, designing, and developing test plans for new Wi-Fi Alliance Standards (Generational Wi-Fi, Security and Optimization Standards)

Who You Are

  • BS degree with 3+ years of experience in wireless technologies OR MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering OR
  • Exposure to and some knowledge of IEEE 802.11/ Wi-Fi Alliance standards and protocols is preferred.
  • Familiarity with wireless traffic generation/analysis tools such as Wireshark and Iperf is preferred.
  • Knowledge of, or experience with scripting using Python, TCL, etc. is preferred.
  • Experience working with multiple OS platforms such as Windows, Linux and MacOS is preferred.
  • Knowledge of other wireless technologies such as 802.15.4 protocols is a plus, but not required

Mechanical Engineer

Job description

We are looking for a motivated mechanical design engineer that will mainly be responsible from carrying out various types of engineering works on Cisco hardware development. Responsibilities for this position include but not limited to:

  • Working closely with the engineering teams to design test matrices and schedule resources/hardware/software.
  • Deliver practical solutions and concepts during brainstorming sessions.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge in manufacturing/part tolerances, and tolerance loop analysis.
  • Regularly review and provide feedback during PCBA development process using DXF/IDF exchange. Designing PCBs, stand-alone chassis, modular chassis, and hot-pluggable modules
  • Perform detailed MCAD product layout studies to ensure project objectives are met and work on the detail fabrication drawings (sheet-metal, plastic, cable, labels, etc.) and assembly drawings required for project prototype release

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum Qualifications BSME in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience in a product development and/or qualification environment.
  • Must have PTC’s Creo based design experience with 2+ years.
  • Efficiently design sheet metal, plastic, labels, and machined parts using Creo
  • Must possess in-depth knowledge of mechanical principles and of product development, including prototyping and high-volume manufacturing.
  • Team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Prefer to have experience in Telecom industry

Lab Technician

BE or Diploma in Electronics & Communication or Electrical Engineering with 3-5 years’ experience in Telecom products lab operations, Equipment handling and Logistic coordination.

The candidate is required to work with and support the development teams working on HW development and be responsible for prototype shipment and logistics coordination between different teams. The candidate is also responsible for providing support to HW teams in bring-up, debug, upgrading and for unit and system level test activities.

Candidate should have following skills

  • Shipping and Receiving of Prototype Hardware
  • Inventory management through asset tagging, verification and tracking of prototypes, test equipment, cables & optics
  • End to End logistics co-ordination for shipments across different geography
  • Hands-on experience in Telecom products test set up & configuration
  • Troubleshooting & diagnostic methodology, Debugging hardware
  • Defining tests, setting up, and working with laboratory tools (multimeters, oscilloscopes,  etc.) .
  • Performs physical installation of equipment like modems, hubs, routers, switches, multiplexers, equipment racks, line cards etc.

Lab Support Technician/Test Automation Engineer

Job Description:

We are currently seeking a Lab Technician/Test Automation Engineer to support the Quality hardware lab. The position requires excellent soldering and assembly skills as well as a working knowledge of standard digital and RF test equipment. The successful candidate will be detail oriented, able to multitask several projects, able to read schematics and PCB layout files, collaborate with engineers to perform DVT testing of Meraki products, generate and review test reports, schedule regular equipment calibration, and maintain the lab. Proficiency with Excel and Word is a must. The ability to automate test verification is a plus.

Hardware Design Engineer

Experience in designing with x86 and/or ARM processors

Experience in designing with DDR3/DDR4 memory, PCIe gen1/gen2, SATA, USB.

Extensive experience in designing Ethernet (10/100/1000Mbps/10GE) and serial interfaces like I2C, SPI, UART, RS232, etc

We are currently seeking an RMA Coordinator to join our team in Fremont, California. The ideal candidate is customer focused, able to follow processes, willing to take on additional tasks, and able to resolve issues independently while working well with different departments.

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to customer requests for material returns, investigate and disseminate details and RMA numbers
  • Receive customer product returns and perform failure analysis
  • Verify whether a part has physical damage or functional failure, and determine the root cause of a defect
  • Assess and determine work instructions that are required to bring the assembly to the final revision
  • Diagnose issue and determine next actions that need to be taken
  • Enter analysis findings in RMA Database and maintain data in RMA Log
  • Work closely with Customer Service, Purchasing, Quality and Engineering to release rework orders, allocate materials needed for rework/repair
  • Coordinate rework order cost estimation with Quoting
  • Interact with manufacturing teams and planner for rework/repair status and ship date confirmation
  • Coordinate with purchasing and warehouse personnel for stock purge of defective parts to be returned to vendor
  • Communicate technical issues to customers and inform them of the rework/repair status
  • Responsible for monthly reporting of receipts, work-in-process, shipments and cycle time
  • Identity urgent demand and backorder, and evaluate their urgency for work prioritization
  • Resolve receiving and shipping problems and work with accounting on invoicing/credit memo issues
  • Track and identify failure trends that may impact customer service, and implement improvement plans and solutions
