• Participate as a core member of a cross-functional engineering team responsible for the specification, design validation, development, and system-level testing of complex hardware products, ensuring alignment with product requirements, performance standards, and reliability goals. 
  • Define and develop comprehensive unit-level and system-level test strategies, including test plans, validation procedures, and acceptance criteria, to ensure full functional, performance, and reliability coverage of hardware systems. 
  • Execute end-to-end system validation and integration testing on advanced hardware platforms such as 9300 switches involving components such as CPUs, ASICs, FPGAs, memory subsystems, power delivery systems, and high-speed interfaces. 
  • Perform deep debugging and root cause analysis of complex hardware and system-level issues using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, and other diagnostic tools. 
  • Collaborate closely with hardware design engineers, firmware/software developers, manufacturing test teams, diags team, and IOS teams to identify design gaps, validate functionality, and ensure seamless transition from development to production. 
  • Develop and maintain automation frameworks such as Test Tracker and test scripts (using Python, Shell, CSVs to improve test efficiency, repeatability, and scalability across validation cycles. 
  • Analyze system behavior and performance by applying networking principles (OSI model, Ethernet protocols, data flow analysis) to validate communication interfaces and ensure compliance with industry standards. 
  • Investigate and resolve system-level failures and interoperability issues, including those related to networking, signal integrity, thermal conditions, temperature, and power constraints. 
  • Drive issue tracking and resolution processes, including documenting defects, performing failure analysis, coordinating fixes with design teams, and verifying resolutions through regression testing. 
  • Generate and maintain detailed technical documentation, including test plans, validation reports, debug logs, and failure analysis summaries for internal stakeholders and product release reviews. 
  • Support field issue resolution and customer escalations by reproducing issues in the lab, performing root cause analysis, and providing actionable solutions to improve product reliability and customer satisfaction. 
  • Contribute to the development and validation of systems involving fiber optics, Ethernet cable infrastructure, and high-speed data communication interfaces, ensuring signal integrity and performance compliance. 
  • Apply structured troubleshooting methodologies and diagnostic techniques to systematically isolate faults and optimize system performance under various operating conditions. 
  • Assist in manufacturing readiness and production test validation, ensuring that hardware products meet quality standards and can be reliably tested at scale in manufacturing environments. 
  • Demonstrate strong project ownership by planning, prioritizing, and executing validation tasks independently, while effectively communicating progress, risks, and technical challenges to cross-functional teams. 
  • Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive test infrastructure for hardware validation, including the setup of lab environments, integration of test equipment (100m setup, IXIA, PoE), configuration of network topologies, and development of automation frameworks and scripts to enable scalable, repeatable, and efficient execution of unit, integration, and system-level test cases.
