Role & Responsibilities:
* Participates on a project team of engineers involved in the specification, design, development, and test of hardware. Defines the unit and system level test processes and procedures.
* Responsible for unit and system level test architecture design (what to test and how to test to exercise all the components on a board). Writes complete unit and system level test plans for an entire product family.
* Performs complex system level unit and integration test. Debug/Mitigate complex system level problems.
* This engineer will work closely with hardware design engineers, software/diagnostic engineers, and manufacturing test engineers to determine a product test strategy, develop the necessary scripts, test the products, and drive any issues to resolution for successful release to manufacturing.

* Debug complex issues at system level & component level including CPU, ASICs, FPGAs, Power supplies, etc.
* Leverage automation to implement test strategy & improve productivity.
* Test product’s compliance to internal specs as well as industry standards.
* Provide detailed issue mitigation & drive issues to closure.
* Document test plans, procedures, & test reports.
* Help root cause field issues & support customer escalation.

Minimum Qualifications:
* BSEE/CE with 2-4 years of experience or MSEE/CE with 1-2 years of experience.

* Hands on experience with electrical test & measurement equipment’s.
* TCL/Python or similar Scripting experience is a plus.

Desired Skills:
* Knowledge of fundamental hardware blocks & subsystems – CPU/microcontrollers, LVDS signaling, PCIe, USB, clocking, basic signal & power integrity.
* Excellent hardware debugging skills and script development/debug skills.
* Ability to widely apply networking principles, theories, and field concepts to product test.
* Ability to draw parallels between hardware architecture and OSI networking fundamentals.

* Solid understanding of L2/L3 routing and switching. Fundamental knowledge of the OSI Model, LAN/WAN topologies, basic router, and switch configurations using IPV4/IPv6/MPLS/VRF.

* Understanding of Fiber Optics and Ethernet Cable plant infrastructure.
* Extensive experience with instrument control & automation.

* Sound troubleshooting & diagnostic methodology.
* Good written & verbal communication skills.

* Ability to plan and execute projects.
* Ability to work well with others – both internal & external teams.
* Ability to learn things quickly & adapt to a dynamic, fast paced work environment.
* A “can do” attitude, independent thinking, & ability to articulate complex technical issues in an effective manner.
