Job Summary
The Validation Engineer is responsible for supporting validation and reliability testing activities for networking hardware systems, including switch and server platforms. The role involves executing system-level validation, troubleshooting hardware issues, analyzing test data, and collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure product quality and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Perform validation and reliability testing on networking hardware platforms, including Cisco switch systems (e.g., C9350, C9400) and Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS).
- Execute system-level validation activities to verify hardware functionality, stability, and performance.
- Utilize Linux-based commands and diagnostic tools to support system bring-up, validation, and troubleshooting.
- Perform interface validation across RJ45, SFP, and QSFP connections to ensure reliable data transmission and link integrity.
- Validate hardware components such as PSUs, network modules, and heat sinks to ensure proper system integration and performance.
- Conduct environmental and reliability testing including shock, vibration, and altitude tests.
- Analyze test results, document findings, and support root cause investigations and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, and manufacturing teams to support product validation and issue resolution.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field.
- Experience with hardware validation, reliability testing, or system-level troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Linux command-line environments and diagnostic tools.
- Knowledge of networking hardware interfaces such as RJ45, SFP, and QSFP.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
